A New Beginning || @ Narcissa

As soon as Lucius had his arms around her, Narcissa’s tears spilled over. She thought she was all cried out, but apparently her body didn’t agree. Her fists were balled up against his chest, and she clutched the front of his robes as if her life depended on it. She heard his quiet promise and felt him kiss her head. His actions were so gentle and so kind that it immediately calmed her down.

Narcissa was sick of hurting, sick of crying. She gently wiped her face with one hand before moving her arms around his back. He was radiating heat and she was grateful for it. She wasn’t crying, but she was still shivering a bit. She turned her face up so she could see him, resting her chin against his sternum. “You know what would make me happy?” she asked with a small, watery smile. “Forgetting all of this and moving on. I don’t want to dwell on it anymore.” She knew it was easier said than done, but she had always found that if she pretended nothing had happened, eventually the hurt would fade away. So for now, she needed a distraction. “I need to forget, Lucius. Help me,” she demanded.

Her arms tightened around his waist involuntarily. She was looking up into his eyes, completely captivated. She realized how they must look to anyone who happened to walk by, but she couldn’t bring herself to care. All she knew was that it just felt right standing here in Lucius’s arms.

Feeling the sobs wreck over Narcissa’s small frame, Lucius mindlessly tightened his hold around her. He could not handle a woman crying, let alone Narcissa. But thankfully she began to calm down in his arms and he loosened his embrace ever so slightly. She began to speak and he glanced down to her. She appeared to be so innocent with those wide eyes but yet sounded so much like a fearless woman as she demanded him to end her suffering.

His eyes flickered back and forth from her eyes to her lips. Oh how he wanted to help her, distract her from that redheaded fool; he bit his lower lip weakly, debating his options. “I wish I could help you, Cissa, I do,” he paused for a moment, he raised his hand to brush a piece of hair out of her face. ”But I don’t to take advantage of you in a state like this,” he pressed his lips to her forehead.

Narcissa was pleased when Lucius bit his lip, his eyes flicking from her lips to her eyes and back again. So he wasn’t unaffected by her presence, her beauty. Her eyebrows came together when he finally spoke, and she found herself confused momentarily until he clarified. Ah. Frustration settled over her like a cloud. She was not so delicate as he seemed to think, and he most certainly wouldn’t be ‘taking advantage’ of her. She shivered as she felt his lips press against her forehead. Her eyes fluttered closed for a moment, but his gesture wasn’t enough and she almost growled in frustration. Could the boy not take a hint?

Cissy tilted her head back and to the side a bit, looking up at Lucius with hooded eyes. She had to work to keep the irritation off her face. At least he hadn’t let go; Narcissa still had her arms linked around his waist, and his hands were on her shoulders. “Lucius,” she said softly, savoring the feel of his name on her tongue. “Please. You of all people should know that I would not let myself get taken advantage of.” Narcissa chose her words carefully. “I only let things happen to me that I want to happen,” she said, barely above a whisper. Her stomach erupted in butterflies as she gazed up at him. They were pressed together, lost in their own little world, staring at each other as time seemed to stop.

"Lucius," she whispered again. All thought left her at that moment, and for the life of her, she wasn’t sure why she’d said his name. All she knew was that nothing and no one could tear her away from him right now.

A New Beginning || @ Narcissa

luciius-malfoy:

Narcissa smiled softly when Lucius squeezed her hand. He had always been like that; always giving her support. She looked up, startled, at Lucius’s statement, her mouth hanging slightly open. She blinked and said, “That’s not what I want all.” She moved around to face him and took his other hand as well, gazing up into his eyes. “Even before all this… mess… started, I was starting to realize that maybe I… belonged with you.” Biting her lip, she broke her eye contact with him and sighed, instead staring at his chest. “I need you to understand that I really did love Fabian. It was so hard though, being the youngest Black sister dating a Gryffindor blood traitor. And now Sirius hates me again…” She took a deep breath and shook her head; she was getting off-topic.

She looked back up at Lucius with tears in her eyes. “He broke my heart, Lucius. He told me he loved me, but then went and fucked it all up for that… that… that whore.” Narcissa rarely ever swore, but when she did, it meant she was very, very angry or upset. She was trembling with rage and hurt and she realized she was squeezing his hands rather tightly. She forced her body to relax and looked back up at him, her voicing dropping to a near-whisper. “I think that… you’re the only one who can… fix me.” She bit her lip but didn’t look away this time. She hoped she wasn’t being too forward. She was just so upset, and she really just wanted him to take her into his arms and let her cry. Her tears were threatening to spill over at any second.

Lucius Malfoy was a totally different person around Narcissa—she always managed to bring out something in him that was never seen by others. He had admired her as they were growing up and playing in the grass outside of the manor as children. He remained silent as she took a step in front of him, forcing his attention on her. Perhaps that was why he admired her so—she wasn’t afraid to assert herself, especially with him. Other girls would sneak around, hoping that they would somehow catch his eye. No, Narcissa made him look at her. Even when she broke the connection, Lucius still kept his eyes on her.

As she spoke to him, Lucius merely nodded. He would have to accept that he was probably not her first love, but then again, she was not his either. She dropped her gaze once more, sounding as if she was going to begin bawling at any moment. Lucius gently pulled her towards him, embracing her within his arms, “I will do whatever it takes to make sure that you are happy,” he spoke hardly above a whisper before pressing a soft kiss upon the top of her head.

As soon as Lucius had his arms around her, Narcissa’s tears spilled over. She thought she was all cried out, but apparently her body didn’t agree. Her fists were balled up against his chest, and she clutched the front of his robes as if her life depended on it. She heard his quiet promise and felt him kiss her head. fabian-prewett:

Fabians heart sunk when he heard the first sobs. He was truly an arse. Her sobs turned into uncontrollable fits of sadness which made Fabian cry harder than before. But he had to stay strong for her. He needed to be there for her in this moment. He had caused this pain, and he had to help mend her wounds.

He didnt know what to do when she laid down beside him. They were almost touching but weren’t. When her head was on its side her hair fell revealing the earrings he had given her. The earrings he charmed so he would always know how she was feeling. They were a deep shade of blue. A shade of depression, sadness…he took a deep breath, his lip quivering to keep in his emotions. He lifted his hand and put it on her arm. He looked at her as she began to calm down and saw the earrings turn from dark blue, to a lighter blue. She was still in pain, he bit his lip and said softly. “i want you to be happy, Narcissa. I can’t express how sorry I truly am..but if malfoy makes you happy..then I respect that..I just..know I can never forget your love. You own my heart.” a tear fell from his cheek onto her blouse. He wiped away the remaining tears and apologized. “you look as beautiful as ever.” he said quickly.

Narcissa stayed in the same position as her sobs quieted and her breathing returned to normal. She was still angry and upset, but she pushed it deep down until all she felt was numb. She had to be strong; she had to do this. His hand came to rest on her arm and she resisted the urge to yank it away. He started speaking again and it took everything in her to not start crying once more. She was at an utter loss; she had no idea what to do or say now, so she stayed still, concentrating on breathing in and out, in and out.

She felt a little drop on her shoulder and saw Fabian wipe his face from the corner of her eye. Then he spoke again. Narcissa closed her eyes tightly at the words, feeling them rip into her heart. She knew that there was a small part of her heart that would always belong to him, but she also knew that it was not her destiny to be with him. If only she had realized it sooner, none of this would have happened. If only, if only… The words repeated over and over in her head, bouncing around until she felt she might go mad. She could have spared him all this pain if she had only stopped and used her brain. Bella had been right from the beginning. It was her own fault, though. She knew how her family would react, and she had put Fabian through all the heartache anyway. She had forced him into doing something stupid and reckless.

Taking a deep breath, Narcissa released her hands from her hair but didn’t sit up. She glanced in Fabian’s direction without meeting his eyes before sighing. Clearing her throat delicately, she decided to say something. “Do you still wear the necklace I gave you?” she asked quietly. He pulled it out of his shirt silently and Narcissa found that she was slightly relieved. “Keep it. I meant what I said at the time.” She took another deep breath and sat up, placing her hands in her lap and fiddling with the hem of her skirt. “Fabian, you really messed me up. And as much as I want to, I just can’t… be with you.” She closed her eyes again as she searched for the right words. “I don’t think I’ll be able to forgive you for a long time, if ever. But… I want you to know that I did truly love you. A small part of me still does, and probably always will.” A tear traced its way down her face as she finally brought her eyes up to his. “I’m so sorry for everything I put you through,” she whispered, unsure of why, exactly, she was apologizing. It was just something she felt she had to do. If this was going to be the last time they ever talked, she didn’t want to part ways with them both completely hating each other. Irrational, yes, but Narcissa was rarely ever rational when it came to matters of love.

fabian-prewett:

Fabian wanted to smile as she summoned the blanket and sat beside him. He knew he broke her heart, he knew she still loved him but he wasn’t good enough for her. She deserved nothing but the best and he was not the best. He held back him years as he stared at her, her eyes glued to the water. When she spoke he was relieved to hear her voice again. She wasn’t as angry as she was the afternoon in the great hall but he knew she held that anger within her. The anger Bellatrix forced upon her.

His eyes studied her, trying to remember this moment. He locked it into his memory and thought about his answer. “I..wanted to tell you…I wanted to apologize for my mistake. A mistake that will haunt me forever. I hurt you and I’m sorry. I know that sorry won’t help but I need you to know that I am sorry. She means nothing more than a friend, and the night I slept with her..was the night my world crashed. I fucked up everything. But hurting you is the worst pain I have ever felt.”
He couldnt stop the years any longer as they fell from his eyes. He looked at his legs again not wanting to see what emotions he pulled from her. If she cried it would make him want to die. If she grew angry he would just let her kill him. She was the only person Fabian had never wanted to hurt and he did. “I don’t deserve you Narcissa..” he said quietly. His pained and crying eyes now staring at the black night that was forced upon them.

Narcissa could feel Fabian’s eyes on her, studying her. She couldn’t bring herself to tell him to stop. She listened to his voice, trying desperately to hold onto the fury she had felt so keenly just a few hours ago. She closed her eyes as she listened, trying to harden her heart. He sounded so sincere… No! she thought, shaking herself mentally. What could have been flashed before her eyes; a house filled with laughing red-haired children, Fabian Flooing home after work, having a family that truly loved her… Stop! she screamed silently.

His voice cracked on his last sentence, and Narcissa cringed at the self-loathing evident there. She opened her eyes and risked a glance in his direction. Her stomach fell at the look on his face. He was… Was he crying? That was almost more than she could handle. She bit the inside of her cheek when he didn’t move. Then he spoke again, in a near whisper, and he sounded so absolutely dejected that it tore her apart. She couldn’t take it any more, and burst out crying. Her hands flew up to cover her face as her body bent over double, great wracking sobs taking over her.

To her great dismay, she couldn’t control the flood of emotion breaking loose. She fell over sideways on the blanket, hands still pressed against her eyes. She tried to take deep breaths to calm down, but only resulted in hyperventilating. She had never felt like this before, and she absolutely hated it. What had she ever done to deserve this? Eventually, her tears slowed, but didn’t stop, and she was able to breathe again. She stayed where she was, curled up on the blanket, still emotionally unstable. She didn’t know what to do, what to say, so she simply stayed quiet. Her hands found their way to her hair and fisted there. She wasn’t aware of moving, but her hands were working on tearing her hair out bit by bit. She was shivering uncontrollably, unaware of anything around her except the storm of hurt and sadness swirling around inside her.

Their final encounter Fabian||Narcissa

fabian-prewett:

Fabian sent the owl and immediately regretted it. Had he said the wrong thing? Written something she took offense to? He didn’t know but he did know it was too late to get it back. He walked to his bed slowly and sat on the edge placing his head between his legs. He let out quiet sobs as pictures of her flew through his mind. He loved her…he was in love with her. He knew he could never find a love like hers. So raw and passionate but also secret and dangerous. He wiped his hand along his eyes as he heard his owl screech beside him. A letter, wrapped delicately in its envelope with NB on the outer paper. His heart skipped a beat even thinking about her and here was her parchment he remembered so vividly.

He took a deep breath before opening the letter, thinking of all the harsh things that could be said. His finger brushed the seal and opened it knowing he would keep this forever. Her last written words to him. He read the letter four times, taking in everything he read. ‘cheating blood traitor’ he thought, ‘how accurate.’ his head hung low and a tear fell right onto the parchment staining it and making the ink run a bit. He opened his trunk and placed it in a green box. Inside the box held, her necklace, her scarf, her glass unicorn, a purple flower, her letters, and the small box he was going to give her on her birthday. He clutched the necklace in his hand and held it close to his heart saying gently, “no matter how much you hate me, Narcissa, you will still always be in my heart.” he kissed the necklace before placing it into the box with everything and closed it.

He dressed himself in the nice pink button up he wore on valentines day and a pair of slacks. He fixed his hair and tucked his lion chain inside his shirt hoping she wouldn’t see it and demand she have it back. He left the dorm at half past curfew towards the lake. Towards their spot, letting her know this a few minutes before he left. He made it to their spot and sat beside the lake, knees to his chest, clutching the lion in his shirt. ‘be strong Fabian’ he thought as he heard the approaching footsteps. He turned hoping he wouldn’t see Lucius or bellatrix. Instead he was met with the face he loved, the face of the one he betrayed, the face of Narcissa Black.

Narcissa had received another note from Fabian, telling her where he would be and to meet him soon. Against her will, her heart skipped a beat thinking about their spot down by the lake. She shook her head and fixed her face back into its casual ice mask. It was going to take all her self control to make it through this meeting without hexing him to hell and back. She read over her sister’s encouraging note again before sweeping gracefully out of her room and heading toward the lake.

Stepping out of the front doors of the school, Narcissa paused for a moment to smooth down her clothes. She fluffed her hair up with her fingers. She was going to show him exactly what he messed up and lost, even if it killed her inside to do it.

She continued on her way, spotting Fabian sitting with his knees tucked up to his chest, gazing out across the water. She stopped for a moment, just looking at him. This would probably be the last pleasant memory she would have of him, so she committed the image to memory. Sighing, she resumed walking, and he turned when she got closer. The look on his face nearly broke her heart again and she steeled herself.

She didn’t say anything. Silently, she walked up next to him, conjured a blanket, and sat down. She was just far enough away that no one could mistake them being together. Stretching her legs out in front of her, she smoothed down her skirt again. She leaned back with her hands bracing her from behind.

"So. You wanted to talk?" she said quietly, unable to look at him. She kept her gaze fixed firmly on the water in front of them.

fabian-prewett asked: Narcissa, I know I'm not the person you want to talk to right now but I have a few things to say..would you please meet me somewhere tonight? If you do, I promise you will never have to speak to me again. Sincerely, Fabian

Fine. But I’m not going to make a habit of speaking to cheating blood-traitors.
